Aboriginal Business Canada (ABC)

Managed by: däna Näye Ventures (DNV)

ABC maximizes aboriginal people’s participation in the economy through business development. Tourism is one of ABC’s five priority areas. ABC works with eligible majority-owned aboriginal enterprises and provides support for a range of activities including business planning, start-up, expansion and marketing.

Arts Fund

Managed by: Tourism and Culture, Yukon Government

The Arts Fund supports group projects that foster the creative development of the arts in the Yukon. The Arts Fund will consider arts-related projects from arts collectives, organisations, industry associations and other eligible groups considering or undertaking an activity related to the literary, visual or performing arts.

Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage

Managed by: Canadian Heritage

The federal Building Communities through Arts and Heritage Program provides support for local arts and heritage festivals as well as major historical anniversaries of local importance.

Community Development Fund (CDF)

Managed by: Economic Development, Yukon Government

The CDF gives Yukon community, industry associations, non-profit organizations, and municipal and First Nations governments money for projects and events that support community well-being; create jobs; generate spending on Yukon goods and services; and have measurable social, cultural and economic benefits for Yukon residents and communities.

Cultural Industry Training Fund (CITF)

Managed by: Tourism and Culture, Yukon Government

The CITF helps address the training needs of Yukon entrepreneurs, businesses, collectives, industry associations or organisations engaged in cultural industries or the arts. Eligible sectors include publishing, visual arts and film and sound recording.

Enterprise Trade Fund (ETF)

Managed by: Economic Development, Yukon Government

The ETF funds activities that increase market penetration, expansion and business development. Eligible activities may include: market research and analysis; trade missions, conventions, conferences; implementation of marketing strategies; business plans, feasibility studies and related business development strategies; related business training.

Historic Sites Designation

Managed by: Tourism and Culture, Yukon Government

Historic site designation means that the architectural, scientific, historical, social or cultural values of a site are protected and commemorated. Designated sites are eligible for up to $20,000 through the Historic Properties Assistance Program.

Regional Economic Development Fund (REDF)

Managed by: Economic Development, Yukon Government

The REDF supports coordinated economic planning at the regional level. Assistance under the REDF is available for: participation and/or development of regional economic development plans; opportunity identification; related research; needs assessments; training plans; corporate organizational capacity training

Strategic Industries Development Fund (SIDF)

Managed by: Economic Development, Yukon Government

The SIDF helps identify and assist the development of industries and strategic projects in the Yukon with the potential for broad-based economic benefits. A variety of assistance for eligible SIDF projects is available for strategic projects or activities in the preliminary, development and implementation stages.

Strategic Investments in Northern Economic Development (SINED)

Managed by: Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC)

SINED has two primary programs in the Yukon: the Targeted Investment Program (TIP) and the Innovation and Knowledge Fund. The TIP has supported some large-scale strategic tourism projects in the recent past.

Tourism Cooperative Marketing Fund (TCMF) - Marketing Project

Managed by: Tourism and Culture, Yukon Government

The TCMF for Marketing Projects (administered by Tourism Yukon) assists tourism businesses, First Nations governments, municipalities and organizations to market their Yukon tourism product. It makes funding available to market-ready or trade-ready businesses and groups.

Tourism Cooperative Marketing Fund (TCMF) - Trade and Consumer Show

Managed by: Tourism Industry Association of the Yukon (TIAY)

The TCMF for Trade and Consumer Shows (administered by TIA Yukon) helps businesses fund their participation in consumer shows, tradeshows and sales efforts.

Tourism Product Development Partnership Program (PDPP)

Managed by: Tourism and Culture, Yukon Government

The PDPP funds product development projects that stimulate the development of niche and destination tourism products, facilitates tourism workshops and builds capacity throughout the Yukon. The program emphasizes partnerships and broad benefits, and it does not fund individual businesses.

Yukon Tourism Training Fund (YTTF)

Managed by: Tourism Industry Association of the Yukon (TIAY)

The YTTF funds a wide range of tourism-related courses and training opportunities including entry-level skill development, seasonal employment training and certifications, and skill development courses to upgrade skills.
